Summary of the feedback from the regional community meetings

Engaging parents/guardians and community partners in the development of school board priorities is important to Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board. Parents/guardians and community partners are significant role models in students being successful at school and in life.

Regional AiM Community Meetings, held in March and April, 2013, provided a forum for parents/guardians and community partners to engage with Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.

An initial review of the feedback from all five meetings revealed similarities in participant comments. In all five regions, the three most common messages reported can be summarized as follows:

  • continue with a purposeful focus on mental health awareness and initiatives for students;
  • continue to offer a full range of programming, regardless of geography; and
  • continue to engage with parents/guardians and the community through community meetings, social media, surveys and parent seminars.
