Teachers are invited to participate in Arts Days at the end of August.

Will you be teaching your own music? Providing prep coverage in the arts? Arts Days will give you confidence and inspiration, plus connect you with other teachers with arts assignments. event flyer

EVENT DETAILS
DATE: Tuesday, August 27 and Wednesday, August 28, 2013
TIME: 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
LOCATION: W. R. Kirk Gymnasium, 224 Palmer Road, Belleville

OUTCOMES

  • Make a frame drum with genuine goat skin head with Leo Brooks (start Tuesday a.m. and finish Wednesday a.m.). Leo worked with students from the three Stirling schools in the spring to make drums. It was a positive experience that all will remember for the rest of their lives!
  • Visual Art with professional artist and educator Andrea Piller (p.m. both days).
  • Music inspiration with musician and teacher Lisa Terpstra (p.m. both days).

These sessions will be of interest to elementary teachers and also secondary Native Studies teachers who want to make a frame drum, and participate in music and visual arts workshops in preparation for the new school year.

Materials and snacks will be provided.
