DO OUR SURVEY: School board looking for public input, until February 8, 2015
Posted on 02/08/2015

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is inviting all community members in Hastings County and Prince Edward County to take its 2015 Public Survey as part of its long-term planning www.HPEschools.ca/PublicSurvey/

"We're looking for input from everyone," said Mandy Savery-Whiteway. "As the local public school board, we want to hear from community members, students, employees and families as we review our goals and priorities for the coming years."

The school board's current 5-year AiM System Plan will be coming to a conclusion at the end of June 2015. Planning is underway to develop a new multi-year system plan. Consultation with employees, trustees, families, students and the community is an important part of this process.

The public survey addresses five areas:

  1. The school board's AiM System Plan, goals and priorities (general knowledge)
  2. Student knowledge, skills and characteristics
  3. Customer service
  4. Community use of school facilities
  5. Communicating with Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board

The electronic survey will be live for three weeks, from now until February 8, 2015. All responses will be confidential and anonymous. Results will be analyzed and reported in summary in mid- to late-March by an independent research firm. Paper copies are available at local schools and at the Education Centre, or can be obtained by calling 613.966.1170 or 1.800.267.4350, or emailing [email protected]

The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. The data will be used as part of the planning process for the new multi-year system plan. A draft plan will be presented to the Board in September 2015 for approval.
