“Am I In Trouble?” A partnership presentation, Prince Edward CI and community partners

Students and staff at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute are excited to be part of an initiative between local OPP officers and the school community to create opportunities for students to contribute to their community in a very meaningful way. The goal is to ensure continued work to support the foundations for a healthy school.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment, in partnership with Prince Edward Collegiate Institute will be hosting a presentation. The "Am I In Trouble?"presentation discusses difficult situations youth may have experienced or witnessed. The presentation will be delivered by teens for teens, supported by many community services.

Representatives from the OPP, Ministry of the Attorney General, Victim Services Hastings, Prince Edward, Lennox &Addington Counties, Quinte Health Care Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Response Program, Alternatives For Women, Community Organized Support & Prevention (Quinte), Children's Mental Health Services and Quinte Children's Foundation is participating.

The intention is to help teens better understand the risks and consequences of challenging societal topics such as bullying, domestic violence, sexual assault and self/peer exploitation, sexting and to ensure they understand the variety of community supports available to teens for assistance.

Research shows that parent engagement is critical to student engagement and ultimately student success.
