Each month, school newsletters include a one-page insert called Home-School Connections. It describes ways in which families can enhance student learning at home in the areas of literacy; numeracy; healthy, caring schools and improving student learning.

This month's Home-School Connections (Pdf) features:

  • Well-Being - students who embrace positive well-being are living a healthy active life and thrive by exploring possibilities, overcoming challenges, respecting self, others and the environment, and making a positive contribution to their community.
    • AboutKidsHealth - This hub includes resources for parents on how to support your child's mental health and general well-being through physical activity, sleep and nutrition. It
also provides information on the signs, symptoms and treatments of different mental health conditions, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, behavioural disorders, anorexia nervosa and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
    • Bwell Bingo - have some family fun while increasing awareness of the importance of maintaining overall wellness through daily physical activity, healthy eating and mental wellness activities with this BINGO activity.
    • Calming an anxious child - it happens to every child in one form or another: Anxiety. As parents, we would like to shield our children from life's anxious moments, but navigating anxiety is an essential life skill that will serve them in the years to come. In the heat of the moment, try the simple phrases in this resource to help your child identify, accept, and work through their anxious moments.
