Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is committed to providing optimum learning opportunities and environments in service of student achievement and well-being. School boards are responsible to program needs and changes in demographic, and to ensure effective management of all resources. Families of students at North Trenton Public School, Prince Charles Public School (Trenton), Trent River Public School and V.P. Carswell Elementary School received a letter of explanation (Pdf).
Students who will be in Grade 7 or 8 in September 2018 will attend school at Trenton High School. This change will provide the required additional space to accommodate the needs of all Trenton students and allow the focus at schools to be on providing programs and services to help each student achieve success.
