Invitation for community members to serve on SEAC

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, in accordance with Regulation 464/97*, is seeking membership on the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). The SEAC, which is mandated by the Education Act, is responsible to make recommendations to the Board on matters related to the provision of Special Education programs and services for students with special education and mental health needs.

Letters of application for SEAC are now being accepted
Letters of application are invited from local associations and interested persons for membership on the SEAC. The Committee will consist of representatives from up to 12 local associations and up to three members-at-large, who are appointed for a four-year term.

Letters of application should be sent to Mandy Savery-Whiteway, Director of Education, at 156 Ann Street, Belleville, ON K8N 3L3, by Friday, October 26, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. Applicants must be qualified to vote for members of Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and must be resident within the HPEDSB area of jurisdiction. Please indicate on your letter of application whether you would represent a local association or are interested in being appointed as a member-at-large.

*According to this regulation, school board employees cannot be SEAC members.
