Nomination are open for the 2017-2018 Premier's Awards for Accepting Schools. These awards recognize and celebrate the innovative work that Ontario's Safe and Accepting Schools Teams do in promoting a positive school environment, and supporting student achievement and well-being.
Anyone in a school community can nominate a Safe and Accepting Schools Team using the nomination form. The deadline for nominations is February 16, 2018.
Promoting student well-being is one of the goals of Ontario's education system. This goal emphasizes the need to focus on both academic success and the whole child_their cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. This includes ongoing work by school communities across Ontario who put in place prevention and intervention strategies to help create safe, inclusive and accepting schools.
