Secondary school students demonstrated their abilities in the trades at a local skills competition.

At the Skills Competition, hosted in partnership with Loyalist College, local sponsors and community partners, students demonstrated their skills and knowledge in 11 competitions to compete for medals, prizes and scholarships.

Competitions included the following:

  • Architectural Technology and Design
  • Automotive
  • Baking
  • Character Animation
  • Electrical
  • Esthetics
  • Individual Carpentry
  • Photography
  • Precision Machining
  • Two-person Carpentry
  • Welding

Three more competitions will take place on April 1 at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. The team going to the May 1, 2017 provincial competition will then be selected.
