Elementary school students are preparing to take to the stage for BandFest 2017.

Event details
DATE: Thursday, April 6, 2017
TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Centennial Secondary School, 160 Palmer Road, Belleville

This year's BandFest will include live music performed by students, two workshops hosted by Quinte Symphony facilitators, multiple adjudicators and a formal warm-up room.

Each band will receive a recording of their performance along with a live adjudication, as well as a private workshop with a professional conductor. The bands may be either classroom-based or extracurricular and must include, but are not limited to, woodwind and/or brass instruments.

Background

In April 2016, HPEDSB held its first annual BandFest which hosted over 200 students from nine different bands across the region. This event wa a non-competitive boardwide festival for elementary school bands. With no trophies, ribbons or ranking systems, it was a chance for students who had practiced since September to perform for, and listen to an audience of their peers.

All parents/families are welcome to attend to see elementary school bands in action!
