The CONNECTIONS newsletter is your source for updates about consolidating Centennial, Moira and Quinte secondary schools.

Each issue will describe what has or is being done, and explains what to expect in the coming weeks and months.

Help name the consolidated secondary school

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is reaching out to the community for suggestions on a name for the consolidated secondary school.

Round 1 of community input is now closed.

The final round of voting on the name for the consolidated Belleville secondary school is underway.

Submit your final choice for the consolidated Belleville school name

December 13, 2017_Public input on the shortlist of names is now closed.

Members of the public are invited provide input on a final choice for the name of the school that will bring together students from Moira Secondary School and Quinte Secondary School in September 2018.The choices are:

  • Belleville East Secondary School
  • East Hill Secondary School
  • East Side High School
  • Gord Downie Secondary School (pending confirmation from the family that this name can be used)
  • Meyers Creek Secondary School

This shortlist was chosen by the Integration Committee after reviewing the initial public input. Over 200 people submitted 314 names for consideration.

Next steps

Public input closes Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at midnight.

The Integration Committee will review the public input on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 to determine a final name. It will be presented to the Board of Trustees for a decision on Monday, January 8, 2018.
